Elli Hakami

VP, Program Development West Coast, Discovery Communications Inc.

As Vice President for the Discovery Channel, Hakami is responsible for creating programming initiatives for both domestic and international broadcast, developing and securing talent, and serving as network liaison to the Los Angeles production community. Hakami was at the helm of the networks’ successful New York development office before heading up the Los Angeles office. Prior to Discovery, she was Senior Director of Program Development at Court TV, worked on a wide variety of nonfiction programming in HBO’s Original Programming, Documentary department and served as an editor for various documentary programs across cable.

Hakami holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University and an MFA from both Tufts University and the Museum School in Boston.
