Hayley BabcockSVP International, Creative & Production (Light Entertainment), Sony Pictures Television Hayley Babcock serves as Senior Vice President, Format Creative, Acquisition & Production for Sony Pictures Television’s (SPT) international production group. She joined SPT in 2007 and is responsible for overseeing the acquisition of third party formats – working closely with format creators in the process while helping to develop their brands, managing the international rollout of Sony formats, supervising and approving all aspects of the adaptation of Sony’s formats worldwide, managing flying/consulting producers for each of Sony’s local unscripted productions. Babcock joined SPT from Fox World Productions, the global format and production arm of the 20th Century Fox Filmed Entertainment Group of companies and a division of Fox TV Studios, where she was senior vice president of production. At Fox World, Babcock was responsible for the roll-out of over 40 Fox formats worldwide and worked with local partners and broadcasters on the local adaptation of each format. She was also responsible for identifying and adapting international formats that Fox could bring back to the United States and represent throughout the world. Prior to Fox, Babcock was director of international programming and production at King World/CBS International, where among other things she was responsible for the execution of international versions of shows such as Wheel of Fortune, Hollywood Squares and Jeopardy! Before that she spent seven years in Germany producing imported and original German programs. She has also served as a producer at KABC-TV KABC-AM in Los Angeles. Babcock has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). She speaks fluent German and conversational French. Babcock lives in Los Angeles with her husband Clay Babcock, a fine arts photographer and artist and their son, Dalton. |
